India have managed to bag six gold medals in the ongoing Asian Shooting Championships 2019. Chinki Yadav on Friday also qualified for Tokyo Olympics 2020 in women's 25m Pistol event by entering the finals of the event in ongoing Asian Shooting Championships 2019. India also have eight silver medals and 5 bronze medals in the tournament. On opening day, Manu Bhaker clinched gold in the women’s 10m air pistol (Senior) event while among men’s Deepak Kumar won the gold in the men's 10m air rifle.

The Asian Shooting Championships 2019 is the 14th edition of the tournament which is taking place at the Lusail Shooting Complex in Doha, Qatar. The tournament is a  nine days affair and will be played between November 5 and November 13. A total of 11 Asian teams are participating in the ongoing tournament. Apart from India, the other 10 teams participating in the contest are South Korea, Chinese Taipei, Iran, Kazakhstan, South Korea, Lebanon, China, Qatar and Singapore. On paper, China looks the strongest and is expected to top the tally at the end of the tournament. The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) named a total of 41 players for the tournaments. A total of 38 Olympic quotas were up for in the tournament. The likes of Sanjeev Rajput and Manu Bhaker were some of the notable names in the list as they have already proved their mettle. So, a lot was in stakes in the mega tournament as a good performance here will give players a berth in the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
