India's shooter Naveen won a gold medal in men's 10m Air Pistol (Youth) event in the ongoing Asian Shooting Championship 2019 on Friday. Naveen earned a total of 241.2 points in the event to bag the top spot for himself. Korean shooter Kim Junhyun clinched the silver medal while China's Yang Shuqiant won the bronze medal in the event. Kim earned 238.2 points in the final while Yang got 220.1 points.

Earlier in the day, India's Chinki Yadav qualified for Tokyo Olympics 2020 after entering the finals of women's 25m Pistol event. She shot 296 points to register a total of 588 points, finishing behind Thailand's Naphaswan Yangpainboon, who shot 590 in the qualifications. The event is being held in Doha, Qatar. Earlier, Indian shooter Esha Singh had won a gold medal in women’s 10m Air Pistol (Junior) event. Priya Raghav won a bronze medal in the same event. On the opening day of the games, India’s Manu Bhaker had claimed women's 10m air pistol gold medal. Bhaker shot 244.3 to win the top prize in her event. Deepak Kumar won a bronze medal in men's 10m air rifle and secured his Olympic quota for the forthcoming Tokyo Olympics 2020. Deepak shot 227.8 in the eight-man final to finish third on the podium and add to India's quotas for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. Indian contingent of shooters is aiming to clinch as many as Olympic quota as they can in the Asian Shooting Championships 2019.
