Day 6 of the Asian Games 2018 brought seven medals overall for India, including two Gold medals. Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan shared a gold medal in the men's doubles tennis event to get India a gold in Tennis. Rowing event with the four-man Indian team of Sawarn Singh/Dattu Bhokanal/Om Prakash/Sukhmeet Singh made the country proud by winning gold, India's fifth of the Games, in men's Quadruple Sculls.Prajnesh Gunneswaran Prabhakaran had to settle for bronze medal after losing to Denis Istomin of Usbekistan 2-6, 2-6 in the men's singles tennis.Heena Sidhu registered a bronze medal in the women's 10-metre air pistol event. India Women's Kabaddi Team lost to Iran and won a Silver.Dushyant won bronze in men's Lightweight Single Sculls, another bronze came India's way with Rohit Kumar and Bhagwan Singh finishing third in men's Lightweight Double Sculls.Men's Hockey team beat Japan 8-0 to move to the round of 16 to end the day for India. India's medal tally now stands at 25, with 6 Gold, 5 Silver and 14 Bronze Medals.

We saw wrestling champion Sushil Kumar perish in first round at Asiad, shooter Shreyasi Singh looked shadow of herself in the tournament, while weightlifter Sathish Sivalingam also bit dust after getting injured in men’s 77kg category event on Thursday. Dipa who had earlier stated to fed up of fourth-place finish should get a podium finish this time around.

Coming to the biggest match of the day – India vs Iran in women’s kabaddi final. With a comprehensive win over minnows Chinese Taipei, Indian women’s team assured themselves a silver medal – of course, winning gold remains the target. Too much is at stake for the side, especially after men’s team suffered a shocking defeat at the hands of Iran and the seven-time champion had to settle for bronze medal. Women’s team can diminish the damage by winning gold for India.
