Day 11 of the Asian Games turned out to be a great day for India. On Wednesday, India added two gold medals to their tally thanks to the brilliant show by Arpinder Singh and Swapna Barman. Arpinder Singh clinched India's first gold medal in 48 years in the men's triple jump event. Swapna Barman won a gold medal in women's heptathlon event.

In Hockey, the Indian team has beaten China in the Women's Semi-final match. It will be for the first time that the Indian women hockey team has qualified for the Final, since 1998, in the Asian Games Final.
The Chinese team played exceptionally well, whereas India will have a lot to introspect. Eventually, the Indian team won the match 1-0.
With the win, the Indian team has assured itself a Silver medal at Asiad. India will now meet Japan in the Gold Medal match on August 31.
In Hockey, India Women's team were tied down by the Chinese team as they fail to score a goal in the first half. On the other hand, the Chinese Women have played exceptionally well and hasn't let the Indian team run rampant.

In Athletics, Indian team comprising of Kunhu Muhammed, Jeevan Suresh, Jithu Baby & Dharun Ayyasamy has qualified for the Final of Men's 4X400m Relay. The Indian team finished second with a timing of 3:06.48s.
In Athletics, Arpinder Singh has won another Gold Medal for India at Asian Games 2018. With the jump of 16.77 metres in Men's Triple Jump, Arpinder secured India its 10 Gold medal at Asiad.
On the second position was Ruslan Kurbanov with a jump of 16.62 metres, whereas the third position was secured by China's Cao Shuo after recording a 16.56 metres jump.
In Athletics, Indian sprinters Jinson Johnson and Manjeet Singh have qualified for the next round after finishing first and second in their respective 1500m Heats.
In Boxing, India's Dheeraj lost to Mongolia's Chinzorig Baatarsukh in Men's Light Welterweight 64kg category. Dheeraj lost the quarter-final bout by a unanimous decision 5-0.
In Table Tennis, the Indian pair of Sharath Kamal and Manika Batra lost their Mixed doubles semi-final match against China. The match was a hard fought one.
The numbers wouldn't suggest India's tough fight in the match. The scores were 9-11, 5-11, 13-11, 4-11, 8-11, as India lost 1-4.
In Athletics, India's star athlete Dutee Chand has won a Silver medal in the 200m Finals. She clocked 23.20 seconds while she missed the medal by less than a second, as Bahrain's Odiong Edidong clocked 22.96 seconds.

After losing the first two games, the Indian pair came back outlandishly and won the third set. The scores of the match, so far, are 9-11, 5-11, 13-11, with China leading 2-1.
in Kurash, India's Megha Tokas has missed out on a medal opportunity as she lost her quarter-final match to Indonesia's Khasani Shifa. Megha lost 0-3 in the Women's 63kg category.

The fifth set hung in balance at 5-5, when India took a time-out. From then, it was an all India show as they won 11-8 to make their spot in the semi-final. With the win, India is assured of another medal.
In Volleyball, India's Women's team has taken a lead over Hong Kong after winning the first game of the match. The Indian team won the first set of semi-final match, 25-18.
In Kurash, India's Megha Tokas defeated Turkmenistan's Gulshat Nasyrova in Women's 63 kg category. The Indian wrestler went past her opponent of Turkmenistan 10-0 in her Round of 16 Match.
In Boxing, India's Sarjubala Devi lost her match against China's Yuan Chang of in Women's Fly (51kg). The Indian boxer lost 0-5 in her Quarter-finals match.
In Boxing, Vikas Krishan has assured India another medal at Asian Games 2018. Indian boxer Vikas beats China's Tuoheta Erbieke Tanglatihan 3-2 in Men's Middle (75kg) Quarterfinals.
In Kurash, India's Kunal lost against Mongolia's Gaajadamba Bayanmunkh in Men's 81kg category. The Indian wrestler went down 0-10 in his Round of 32 match.
In Kurash, India's Binisha Nayakattu Biju lost 0-3 to Iran's Azar Koolivand. The Indian wrestler lost to the Iranian in Women's 63kg category in her Round of 32 match.
Manjit Singh turned out to be India's sole gold medallist on Tuesday, a day on which it lost two compound archery team finals and PV Sindhu gold-medal match, while men's table tennis team settled for a maiden bronze and India reached 50 medals at the 18th Asian Games. Recap Day 10: Manjit led India's top-two finish in the 800 metres race with Jinson Johnson, while 4X400 metres relay team, comprising Muhammed Anas, Rajiv Arokia, Hima Das and M.R. Poovamma, claimed the silver medal, even as Pincky Balhara clinched silver, while Malaprabha Jadav settled for the bronze in the women's 52kg category of the Kurash competition.
However, India endured defeats in the gold medal matches in archery to teams from South Korea. While the Indian women's team of Muskan Kirar, Madhumita Kumari and Jyothi Vennam lost 228-231, the men's team comprising Rajat Chauhan, Aman Saini and Abhishek Verma lost in the final which ended in a shootout after both teams were locked 229-229.

Sindhu also had to settle for a historic silver after going down 13-21, 16-21 in just 34 minutes to World No.1 Tai Tzu-ying of Taiwan in the women's singles final.The defeat meant that Sindhu became the first Indian to win an individual silver medal in badminton at the Asiad. It was also the first Asiad individual medal for Sindhu.
In athletics, 28-year-old Manjit ended India's 36-year drought in men's 800-metre competition with a timing of 1:46.15s, 0.20s faster than Jinson, the Asian Championship medallist from Kerala. With four of the eight athletes running parallelly, Manjit shocked everyone as the Haryana athlete displayed a stunning run in the final 40 metres.
Meanwhile, there was more good news for India from the mixed 4X400 metres relay competition as Muhammed Anas, Rajiv Arokia, Hima Das and M.R. In table tennis, Indian men's team had to be content with a first-ever bronze medal following a 0-3 loss to South Korea in the semi-finals. G. Sathiyan, Achanta Sharath Kamal and Anthony Amalraj went down fighting in their respective matches.
India also clinched two medals in the debut Asiad discipline of kurash, with Pincky outclassed 10-0 by world and Asian champion Gulnor Sulaymanova of Uzbekistan in the final. Gulnor had earlier thrashed Malaprabha 10-0 in the semi-finals. (Inputs IANS).
