So, that's end of Asian Games 2018 day 10 as far as India is concerned. Manjit Singh won India's ninth gold today in the men's 800m while Jinson Johnson won silver in the same event. Besides it, towards the end of the day India secured a silver medal in mixed relay 4x400m. In Kurash, India secured historic silver and bronze medals. PV Sindhu settled for silver after losing her women's singles finals match to Tai Tzu Ying of Chinese Taipei. Indian men's and women's compound archery teams too had to be content with the silver medal after losing to South Korea in their events respectively. In Table Tennis, Indian men's team settled for bronze after losing to Korea. India stands at eighth place in the medals table and team standings with their medal count touching 50 including 9 gold, 19 silver, and 22 bronze.

Another SILVER for India! This time it is in mixed relay 4x400 race. India finishes second behind Bahrain. Muhammed Anas Yahiya, Poovamma Machettira, Hima Das and Arokiarajiv clocked at 3:15.71. Kazakhstan wins bronze. And with it, India's medal tally reaches 50 at the Asian Games 2018.

Indian women beat Indonesia 3-0 in their group game. This is India's third win from as many matches. Earlier, the Indian team beat Thailand 3-0 and Iran by the same margin as well.

After Pincky Balhara qualified for final, India have won their first medal in Kurash. Malaprabha Jadhav wins Bronze in women’s 52kg Kurash, she losses the semis 0-10 against Uzbekistan’s Gulnor Sulaymanova.

That's it! India beat Sri Lanka by 20-0 in men's hockey Pool A match. This is India's fifth victory out of as many matches. This is India's second biggest win  at the 2018 Asian Games. Earlier, the Men in Blue beat Hong Kong 26-0.

The Indian men's table tennis team had to be content with the bronze medal following a 3-0 loss to South Korea in the semi-finals of the 18th Asian Games here on Tuesday.

This is the first ever table tennis medal for India in Asian Games.

G. Sathiyan, Achanta Sharath Kamal and Anthony Amalraj went down fighting in their respective matches.

The South Koreans took the lead when Sathiyan lost 11-9, 9-11, 3-11, 3-11 to Lee Sangsu in the opening match. Kamal gave a tough fight to Jeoung Sik before going down 9-11, 9-11, 11-6, 11-7, 8-11 while Amalraj lost 5-11, 7-11, 11-4, 7-11 to Jang Woojin.

Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra's historic gold medal, along with three silver medals in athletics, continued success stories of P.V. Sindhu and Saina Nehwal and the men's table tennis team's first-ever medal assurance marked a successful day for India at the Asian Games. India continued to shine in athletics for the second straight day, with Neeraj creating a new national record on his way to the title, while Dharun Ayyasamy (400m hurdles), Sudha Singh (3,000 metres steeplechase) and Neena Varakil (women's long jump) clinched the silver medals. India now is ninth in the medal standings with 41 medals (8 gold, 13 silver and 20 bronze). Saina had to settle for bronze after suffering a 17-21, 14-21 defeat in the semi-finals to Tai Tzu Ying of Taiwan. The 28-year-old's bronze was the first individual badminton medal at the Asiad for India in 36 years. However, Sindhu soon brought joy to the Indian fans as she stormed into the final with a 21-17, 15-21, 21-10 victory over World No.2 Akane Yagamuchi of Japan. The 23-year-old Sindhu became the first Indian shuttler to reach the final of badminton singles competition at the Asiad. It will be the first time India will have two singles shuttlers standing on the podium in the continental quadrennial Games.

India shone bright in the indoor athletics events. Reigning Asian champion Neeraj threw 88.06 metres in his third attempt to clinch the gold, bringing India's second medal in the event in Asiad history. Such was the domination of the 20-year-old that even his lowest throw of 83.25m was better than the nearest competitor. In his first attempt, Neeraj recorded 83.46 metres. He fouled his second attempt but the next three attempts saw him throwing 88.06m, 83.25m and 86.36m respectively. Sudha grabbed her second medal at the Asian Games as she claimed a silver medal in the women's 3,000 metres steeplechase. Neena clinched silver in the women's long jump, recording a best attempt of 6.51 metres to finish second. In the men's 400 metres hurdles, Dharun claimed the silver medal with a new national record, Dharun recorded his personal best of 48.96 seconds to finish second behind Qatari Abderrahman Samba, who delivered a Games record of 47.6s. In the women's 400m hurdles, Anu Raghavan and Jauna Murmu finished fourth and fifth respectively.

In table tennis, the Indian men's table tennis team edged past Japan 3-1 in the quarter-final to assure itself of a historic first medal, while women's lost their quarter-final clash against Hong Kong. Prior to this edition of Asiad, India had not won any medal in table tennis. (IANS inputs)
