Wrestler Bajrang Punia returned home after winning the gold medal at the Asian Games 2018 at Jakarta by defeating Japan’s Daichi Takatani by 11-8 in 65 KG Freestyle Category. The wrestler returned home on Tuesday night at around 9.15 PM. He landed at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi as hundreds of fans waited for the wrestler with flowers. In fact, it took about half an hour for Punia to get out of the airport.

Since it was difficult to control the admirers, members of the Central Industrial Security Force had to be called. He thanked the fans for the love and support. "Last evening, as soon as I reached the Delhi airport, there was a sight to behold. All my mates were present, showering me with love. The happiest bit for me was the presence of my guru Yogeshwar Dutt and my brother Deepender Hooda at the airport," Punia wrote in a tweet. Check out the video below:

Punia even spoke to the reporters upon his arrival and said, “Yogi bhai (Yogeshwar) had told me that he'd won a gold medal at the 2014 Asian Games and this time it was my turn. I'm glad I could live up his expectations," He also went on to mention that the love of his fans keeps him motivated. Punia had also made the nation proud during the 2018 Commonwealth Games by winning a gold medal in 65 kg freestyle category. On Monday, Punia dedicated his victory to late Indian Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.
