After clinching a gold medal at the Asian Games 2018, wrestler Vinesh Phogat got engaged to her longtime boyfriend Somvir Rathi at the airport after she arrived from Jakarta from the mega tournament. The duo exchanged rings at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi in presence of the duo’s family. Vinesh’s uncle Mahavir Phogat and Somveer’s mother were there when the rings were exchanged. Mahavir Phoghat had even confirmed the news of her engagement to a Hindi newspaper. Vinesh Phogat gets engaged!

Since Somveer wanted to make their relationship official on Saturday itself and thus the two exchanged the rings at the airport itself. Yesterday, Vinesh Phoghat shared a few pictures on Instagram where the two are seen cutting a cake. “Thank you everyone for making me feel special with your warm and beautiful birthday wishes.☺️ I am really touched and humbled with all the blessings showered on us. 🙏🏽 This birthday will always be a memorable one 🇮🇳🥇❤️🤗,” read the caption.

Earlier she Vinesh shared a post featuring the couple together the two looked extremely happy together.

A few days ago, Vinesh was romantically linked to India’s Javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra. Both rubbished the reports and slammed the newspaper. While speaking to the Times of India, Vinesh clarified that her sudden engagement was the outcome of the controversy with Neeraj Chopra to which she said, “No, it was nothing like that. For me, the article involving Neeraj doesn’t exist. Somvir and I are friends or 7-8 years and the whole country knows about our relationship.”
