India added four medals on seventh day of the ongoing Asian Games – gold medal by Tajinderpal Singh Toor in men’s shot put and three bronze medal in squash after all three players Joshna Chinappa, Dipika Pallikal and Saurav Ghosal failed to get past their opponents in women’s and men’s singles semi-finals event. Nevertheless, the trio clinched three important medals for the country. Apart from this, India's mixed team and mens bridge teams qualified for the semi-finals, assuring the country at least two bronze medals.

Big disappointment came in form of Anish Bhanwala, the 15-year-old who despite being in good form failed to make to the finals of men's 25m rapid fire air pistol event. The shooter added to the list of players who failed to impress after Commonwealth Games high. But Day 8 is a new day with a lot of action in store. Shooters from Indian contingent still have chances for redemption with Rashmee Rathore and Ganemat Sekhon taking part in Skeet Women and Angad Vir Singh Bajwa and Sheeraz Sheikh in Skeet Men.
