Indian gymnast Aruna Budda Reddy has made history by bagging a bronze medal in Vault at the ongoing Gymnastics World Cup in Melbourne. Another Indian gymnast Pranati Nayak finished 6th on the list. Aruna Budda Reddy scored an average of 13.649 for a total of two vaults.

Pranati Nayak’s average was 13.416. The gold medal in the event was won by Slovenia’s Tjasa Kysslef with a score of 13.8. The second position belonged to Australia’s Emily Whitehead. She ended up with the silver medal and her score was 13.699.

Melbourne is hosting the ongoing 2018 Gymnastics World Cup. A total of 16 countries have participated in this year’s event. The qualification round lasts across two days and the top eight team athletes on each apparatus will reach to the finals.

The finals will be held on February 24 and 25. In the men’s rings events, Rakesh Patra finished fourth. Ashish Kumar, Rakesh Kumar Patra and Aruna Budda Reddy from India qualified on Friday.
