Andrade Becomes US Champion at WWE Live Event in Madison Square Garden; Girlfriend Charlotte Flair Reacts on Title Victory

Andrade became US Champion at WWE Live Event Event which took place at Madison Square Garden. This WWE house show took place post Christmas on Dec 26, 2019. Andrade defeated Rey Mysterio at this event by delivering his hammerlock DDT finisher after evading Mysterio's frog splash following a 619. This is indeed a memorable moment for former NXT Champion, who became the US Champion for the first time. Andrade earned the opportunity after hurting Humberto Carrillo at the end of the gauntlet match which took place on Dec 16, 2019 episode of Raw. This match also featured R-Truth, Akira Tozawa, Matt Hardy and Ricochet. There was indeed no clear winner after Humberto Carrillo was assaulted by Humberto Carrillo in the last round of gauntlet match, which left the authority with no option but to declare Andrade the winner. His title opportunity date and venue, however, was not confirmed. Rey Mysterio was successful in retaining his US title this past week on Raw against Seth Rollins, as AOP and BeastSlayer assaulted him in midst of the match which led to disqualification.

WWE fans will eagerly wait for the upcoming episode of Raw on Dec 30, 2019, where newly crowned US Champion will address the crowd. Interestingly, last time at Madison Square Garden house show in July 2017 also US Title change took place where AJ Styles defeated Kevin Owens.
