Naomi Osaka won the Australian Open 2019 Women's Singles Grand Slam final against Petra Kvitova on Saturday, after winning the 2018 US Open where she beat Serena Williams in the final.
Ace South African cricketer AB de Villiers congratulated the 2019 Australian Open Women's Singles winner Naomi Osaka in a controversial tweet. The South African cricketer, known as Mr 360 degree batsman for his exploits in the game, said in his tweet that "this time she's (Naomi Osaka been "allowed" to enjoy the moment) in reference to the drama that had taken place at US Open 2018, when Osaka had to apologise to the crowd despite winning after the showdown between her finals' opponent Serena Williams and the chair umpire. Naomi Osaka won the Australian Open 2019 Women's Singles Grand Slam final against Petra Kvitova on Saturday and the first grand slam of the year. She beat Petra Kvitova 7-6(2), 5-7, 6-4. Osaka had also won the 2018 US Open championship defeating Serena Williams in the final. This is the second straight grand slam win for Naomi Osaka and she has also become the World No 1 in women's tennis.
