Aadil Bedi is just 17-years-old and is all set to make his debut as a professional golfer on the Asian tour at the Panasonic Open. The tournament kicks-off from 25-28 October 2018 and will be held at Delhi Golf Club in New Delhi. The talented youngster from Chandigarh will be seen in action with stars like Jeev Milkha Singh, Shiv Kapoor, Jyoti Randhawa, and Arjun Atwal.

The youngster is hoping to qualify for the Olympics 2020 and thus has decided to turn professional. “ I have decided to turn professional so that I can qualify for the Olympics 2020 and represent my country. The teenaged golfer has found support from none other than Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli’s foundation, which is supporting the next generation of India's sporting talent. “I am truly grateful for all the support that the Virat Kohli Foundation has given me until now and am looking forward to going to the USA for a one-month advance psychology and golf training course in April after my class 12 board exams,” Bedi said.

Meanwhile, Kohli took to Instagram and said that he and his foundation is proud to sport young Bedi’s training. “So proud of this young achiever turning Pro today @aadil.bedi Here’s wishing you a leap of faith every time you step on that turf. Humbled to have been able to contribute to your dreams through the @vkfofficial Go make us proud!” Kohli wrote.

Aadil Bedi has played 292 junior and Amateur Matches in his 13-year Amateur career. He has thus far won 171 Medals and trophies.

Having clocked 10230 hours of practice, Bedi has represented India in all the Elite and Major Amateur matches of the world including Asian games, British Amateur, Australian Masters of Amateur, Singapore Amateur and Eisenhower Cup, Ireland.

At the recently concluded Asian Games Bedi led the field for the first three days. He, however, missed the medal and finished at the 13th spot.

Bedi is the winner of 2017 SSG BLR Singapore international Amateur championship and runner-up of 2017 World Star of Junior Golf. In 2017, he won the Western Indian Amateur championship and finished as runner-up of Telangana Amateur championship.
