Several Indian athletes will begin their Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games journey on Day 3 of the competition as the athletics and archery contingent will be in action for the first time. India had a mixed outing on Day 3 of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games Jaideep Deswal and TC Tek Chand were unable to secure a podium finish in their respective events. Meanwhile, Bhavinaben Patel confirmed India's first medal at the games, advancing to the semifinals of table tennis. Check out the medal tally of the Games.

Tek Chand misses out on a medal in the Men's Shot Put F55 Final at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics. The Indian recorded a best attempt of 9.04, which is significantly lower than those of the athletes currently occupying the top three positions.

Indian para-powerlifter misses out on a medal at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics in the 65kg Powerlifting event as he finishes eight on the leaderboard. Deswal attempted 160 and 167 kg but was unable to complete any of his lifts.

Bhavinaben Patel continues her sensational run at Tokyo 2020 Paralympics as she has advanced to the semi-finals of women's Individual Table Tennis by defeating Serbia's Borislava Peric. The Indian is just one win away from securing a silver medal after a 3-0 win in her final eight match.

Recurve:
Vivek Chikara - 10th (609)
Harvinder Singh - 21st (600)

Vivek Chikara has occupied the 12th position with 558 points.

Harvinder Singh has slipped to  number 21 with 548 points

So Jyoti Baliyan has finished 15th out of 24 in Women's Archery Compound Open Ranking. She scored 671 points to produce the season-best performance.

India are yet to open their account in the medal tally but have a great chance of doing that on Day 3 as TC Tek Chand will aim for a podium finish during the Men’s Shot Put F55 Final. Meanwhile, Bhavina Patel has progressed to the next round in the women’s individual Table Tennis event and will be in action on the third day where she faces Brazil Olivera Joyce.

India have sent their largest contingent to date to the Tokyo Paralympics 2020 as a total of 54 athletes have made the trip hoping to replicate the country’s record-breaking achievement of the Olympics earlier this year.
