The official account of the Hockey World Cup 2018, revealed the timings of the opening ceremony. “Worlds will come together as the top 16 countries gather to celebrate the magnum opus of hockey. On the eve of the opening of the mega-event, the CM of Odisha Naveen has declared a holiday. “CM @Naveen_Odisha declared a holiday on 27 November for all educational institutions in #Bhubaneswar for the inaugural event of #HockeyWorldCup2018. Government offices and educational institutes across the state will function till 1:30 PM on 27 November,” read a tweet from the CMO’s official handle.

Talking about India, the hosts will play their first match on November 28 against South Africa at 7.00 PM. The mega-event will witness the participation of 16 teams and India is placed in Pool C along with Belgium, Canada and South Africa.
