Russian President Vladimir Putin finally broke his silence on the plane crash between Moscow and St. Petersberg, which claimed the life of the Wagner group chief, among other people. Praising Yevgeny Prigozhin, the founder of the Wagner Group, as a 'talented businessman', Putin further expressed sympathy to his family. Putin honoured the man formerly referred to as his "chef" because of his lucrative contracts to provide food to the Kremlin. In his broadcast speech, Putin claims, "I have known Prigozhin for a very long period, from the beginning of the 1990s. Previously, Putin made his thoughts quite clear when Yevgeny Prigozhin and his Wagner warriors began their mutiny two months ago. He referred to it as "treachery" and a "stab in the back" to Russia.
