At the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on Monday, a faculty member was fatally shot in a lab, putting the school on lockdown for several hours while students hid in classrooms, dorms, and restrooms, according to the police. At a press conference on Monday night, U.N.C. Police Chief Brian James said that a suspect was apprehended at 2:31 p.m., or around 90 minutes after the police got a 911 call stating that shots had been fired at the campus scientific building Caudill Labs.
