Yulia Storozhuk, a 29-year-old mother from Ukraine, has accepted a plea deal in Miami after being caught throwing and kicking her 3-year-old son. In the video, Storozhuk enters a room, her 3-year-old son standing at the doorway. She points toward the hallway, and as he begins to walk toward her, he is pushed down. According to the arrest report, she then, with both hands, lifts the child from the ground and throws him to the floor. While on the ground, he is kicked, not once but twice. The little boy tries to get up but is pushed back down and kicked down the hallway out of view. Storozhuk, who fled the Ukraine war and arrived in the United States about a year ago, expressed deep remorse for her actions, attributing them to her "emotions getting the best of me." As part of the plea deal, Storozhuk avoided jail time and was sentenced to three years probation. Additionally, she faces deportation back to Ukraine. Judge Carmen Cabarga, overseeing the case, encouraged the possibility of reuniting Storozhuk with her child, provided she promises not to be physical with him in the future.
