A 17-year-old boy was found guilty by the Newcastle Crown Court of murdering 15-year-old schoolgirl Holly Newton, after stabbing her to death on January 27, 2023. The incident occurred in the UK's Hexham, Northumberland. Holly Newton was allegedly stalked by the accused after she left her school, the Queen Elizabeth High School, at around 5 PM local time on the day of the attack. The accused stabbed Holly 36 times until the blade snapped, stopping only when two passers-by pulled him away from her. The accused also stabbed another teen who tried to get him off Holly. In the trial that followed, the accused admitted to attacking Holly out of anger, as per a BBC report. A video of the victim and the attacker on the streets has gone viral, where the accused can be seen stalking Holly.
