What a day it was at the IPL 2025 mega auction which saw records being broken and some unbelievable signings made by the franchises! Rishabh Pant hogged the spotlight on the day as he became the most expensive player in IPL history, with Lucknow Super Giants breaking the bank to sign him for a massive Rs 27 crore! Shreyas Iyer, who was earlier signed by Punjab Kings for Rs 26.75 crore, was the second-most expensive player in IPL history. KL Rahul, another player on whom players had their eyes on, was acquired by Delhi Capitals for Rs 14 crore. Yuzvendra Chahal and Arshdeep Singh, two of India's top wicket-takers in T20I cricket, were signed by Punjab Kings for Rs 18 crore each. Kolkata Knight Riders, the defending champions, also made headlines by splashing Rs 23.75 crore on Venkatesh Iyer as they fended off some strong interest from Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Gujarat Titans got Jos Buttler pretty early on while Phil Salt headed to RCB. Trent Boult and Jofra Archer returned to their former franchises-Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals, respectively. Towards the end of the day, it was Rasikh Salam Dar, who attracted eyeballs when the uncapped pacer was acquired by RCB for a massive sum of Rs 6 crore.

Rajasthan Royals signed Kumar Kartikeya Singh for Rs 30 lakh. Manav Suthar was also signed for the same amount by Gujarat Titans.

Suyash Sharma was signed by RCB  for Rs 2.6 crore. RCB, Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians were involved in bidding for the leg-spinner. Suyash Sharma impressed for KKR in his first season in 2023.
