A terrifying shark attack unfolded in Florida yesterday morning, June 29, leaving a man in his 40s critically injured after he was bitten severely on his right forearm while fishing near Fernandina Beach, north of Jacksonville. Reportedly, the incident occurred when the man, having caught the shark, attempted to release it back into the water, only to be bitten in the process. Responding swiftly to a distress call, the NCSO Marine Unit arrived and administered emergency aid, including applying a tourniquet to stem the bleeding. Despite the severity of the injuries, the victim was airlifted to a nearby hospital, where he remains in critical condition, though medical authorities are optimistic about his recovery.
