A video went viral on Tuesday which purportedly showed men and women in uniform having a traditional Pongal feast. Several news portals claimed that the feast was hosted by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak for his office staff. However, now it comes to light that the said video is actually from Waterloo, Canada, where a Pongal feast was organised by the Tamil Cultural Association. Rishi Sunak, however, marking the harvest festival Thai Pongal, had extended greetings to the Tamilians celebrating the harvest festival but he did not have anything to do with the Pongal feast. Rishi Sunak Sports Sacred Hindu ‘Kalawa’ Aka ‘Mouli’ Thread During His First Speech As British PM.
