Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday presented a cheque of Rs100 million (USD359,049) and gifted a car to Olympic gold medalist Arshad Nadeem to celebrate his recent victory at the Paris Olympics 2024. CM Sharif visited Nadeem’s home in Mian Channu, Khanewal district, where she was warmly welcomed. During her visit, she met with Nadeem’s family and took selfies with them. Arshad Nadeem made headlines last Thursday by winning Pakistan’s first individual gold medal in the men’s javelin throw at the Paris Olympics. He set a new Olympic record with a throw of 92.97 meters, surpassing former Olympic champion Neeraj Chopra, who finished in second place.
