In a disturbing case in Jesup, Georgia, 8-year-old Noah Bush was drowned by an 11-year-old bully in a water-filled pit this past May. The young assailant admitted to leading Noah to the pit, submerging his head, and holding him underwater until he drowned. Initially believed to be an accidental drowning, the incident was later revealed as foul play after the Bush family pursued a private investigation. The 11-year-old was sentenced to two years in a detention facility, the maximum for juveniles in Georgia. Another boy, aged 10, received the same sentence for his role in concealing the crime. Noah's mother, Demetrice Bush, criticised the sentence as insufficient, calling for further legal action, including against adults who allegedly misled the investigation. The family and their attorneys also believe the attack was racially motivated and are pushing for continued legal efforts.
