Record-setting rain overwhelmed New York City’s sewer system Friday, sending a surge of floodwater coursing through streets and into basements, schools, subways and vehicles throughout the US’s most populous city. At the Laguardia airport, many flights were delayed and cancelled. Video posted online showed the terminal covered in water as frantic passengers tried to flee. In the Video, travellers were forced to walk barefoot as the airport was completely flooded. Reports said that amid the flooding, LaGuardia Airport officials announced that they were temporarily shuttering operations at Terminal A, and passengers would be transported to Terminal C.
