Netiporn Sanesangkhom, Thailand's anti-monarchy activist, passed away today, May 15, in custody after being on a hunger strike for over 110 days. Netiporn Sanesangkhom, who was popularly known as "Bung Thalu Wang", breathed her last today morning after suffering a cardiac arrest. She was 28 years old. Well-known among Thailand's political activists, Netiporn Sanesangkhom grew up in a family of lawyers, with her father being a judge. Netiporn Sanesangkhom, aka Bung Thaluwang, was reportedly prosecuted for political activities in three cases, two of which were under Article 112, due to conducting a poll by the Thalu Wang activist group. The poll led to the revocation of her bail and her detention at the Central Women's Correctional Institution. As per reports, Netiporn was detained without bail on contempt of court and royal defamation charges. She suffered a cardiac arrest at the Central Women's Correctional Institution.
