After this, they reportedly threw the goalpost into a river. It is reported that the incident occurred after Vanderbilt upset no one ranked Alabama. After tearing down the goalpost, the students were seen walking down Broadway before tossing the goalpost into the Cumberland River. Later, the goalpost was recovered by the Nashville Fire Department.
