Amid the ongoing standoff between India and Canada, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said that India is targeting pro-Khalistani elements in Canada. Brigitte Gauvin, Assistant Commissioner, Federal Policing, National Security, RCMP, said, "It (India) is targeting South Asian community but they are specifically targeting pro-Khalistani elements in Canada." Brigitte Gauvin also claimed that the Lawrence Bishnoi gang is linked to the Indian Agents in Canada. He further alleged that India is using organised crime elements. Speaking further, Gauvin went on to name the Bishnoi gang led by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. "We believe that the group is connected to agents of the Government of India," Brigitte Gauvin added.
