The US has asked the families of embassy personnel in Lebanon's Beirut to return as the conflict between Israel and Hezbollah intensifies. The directive, issued on Saturday, also authorises the voluntary departure of some embassy staff. According to an official statement, the decision is in response to the “increased volatility following airstrikes within Beirut and the volatile and unpredictable security situation throughout Lebanon.
