A video was filmed by the crew at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida, showing a lightning-like atmospheric phenomenon known as St. Elmo's fire as Hurricane Idalia making landfall had the base undertake quick evacuation on August 28. According to the National Hurricane Center, Hurricane Idalia is forecast to be an "extremely dangerous" Category 4 storm when it lands early on Wednesday (US time).
