In a heartwarming moment ahead of Kamala Harris’ historic speech on the final night of the Democratic National Convention, her grandnieces - Amara and Leela Ajagu - took the stage to offer a unique tutorial. Introduced by actor Kerry Washington, eight-year-old Amara and six-year-old Leela, daughters of Harris’ niece Meena Harris, helped the crowd correctly pronounce the US vice president’s name. The video of the same is doing rounds on social media. “It’s come to my attention that there are some folks who struggle — or pretend to struggle — with the proper pronunciation of our future president’s name. Confusion is understandable. Disrespect is not. So tonight we are going to help everyone get it right,” Washington stated before the two children walked into a cheering crowd. Dressed in a pink pantsuit and a blue dress, Amara and Leela charmed the audience with their simple instructions. “First you say ‘comma’ like the comma in a sentence,” Amara explained. “Then you say ‘la’ like la-la-la-la-la,” added Leela, ensuring everyone knew how to pronounce “Kamala” correctly. Kamala Harris Family Members: Who Are Kamala Harris’ Father, Mother and Husband?
