A mob of looters ransacked a gas station convenience store near Oakland International Airport in US, causing thousands of dollars in damage. The incident occurred around 4:30 am on Friday, following a nearby car sideshow. Store owner Sam Mardaie estimated 80 to 100 people broke through the front door, stealing drinks, food, and even a television. The mob also took approximately USD 25,000 from the register and ATM, though they failed to access the safe. The store was only offering window service, common during overnight hours. Despite Mardaie’s plea for help, police took nine hours to respond, initially classifying the crime as a Priority 2 burglary. Once video evidence revealed the scale of the incident, it was upgraded to a Priority 1, prompting a faster police response.
