On Sunday night, an attacker threw two Molotov cocktails into the Cuban embassy in Washington, according to Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla on X, adding that no one was injured. The incident came only hours after Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel returned to the island after attending United Nations activities in New York last week. When the nations' diplomatic connections were restored in 2015, the embassy reopened. Rodriguez said that in a prior incident in 2020, bullets were fired from a rifle at the building.
