The United Sikhs group affiliated with the United Nations today, November 5, took to X (formerly Twitter) to condemn the storming of protestors inside Gurdwara Sri Guru Singh Sabha in Canada's Malton, Ontario, on November 3. In its post, United Sikhs said that the protestors violated the Sikh community's right to assemble safely. It also called on Canadian authorities to take swift action against those responsible and to ensure justice. "Every community deserves the right to practice their faith without fear or violence," it said. They also lauded the Peel Regional Police for standing in defence of what is right despite facing aggression. Condemning the violence that targeted Sri Guru Singh Sabha Malton Gurdwara, Jagmeet Singh, leader of Canada's New Democratic Party, said that places of worship must be protected. The Peel Regional Police also issued an official statement and said that they arrested three people in connection with the incident.
