Impacts were especially felt in Brooklyn, where nearly 7 inches of rain had fallen by midday. Brooklyn became an epicenter of rainstorm as streets and subways flooded under more than a half-foot of rain. At the Laguardia airport, many flights were delayed and cancelled. Travellers were forced to walk barefoot as the airport was completely flooded. Gov. Kathy Hochul declared a state of emergency and urged New Yorkers to stay home. New York Flash Flood Videos: Intense Rainfall Triggers Massive Flooding in Queens, Brooklyn And Other Parts of City.
