Russia-Ukraine Crisis: Moscow Stock Exchange Suspends Trading Amid Rising Tensions With Ukraine
Earlier, the US said it was broadening its restrictions on trading Russian government debt. Britain slapped sanctions on five Russian banks and three billionaires. Japan announced prohibiting the issuance of Russian bonds in Japan and freezing the assets of certain Russian individuals.
Moscow Stock Exchange suspended trading on Thursday amid Russia-Ukraine tensions. This comes in the backdrop of a recent sharp fall in Russian stocks after a host of countries imposed sanctions, which largely targetted Russian banks, its debt markets and rich Russian individuals.
