A pilot died, and another suffered serious injuries after a combat trainer jet of the Bangladesh Air Force crashed in a river in the port city of Chattogram in Bangladesh on Thursday, May 9. The two pilots jumped from the aircraft with parachutes as it caught fire. They were rescued from Karnaphuli River and admitted to BNS Patenga Hospital in Chittagong. While undergoing treatment at the hospital, one of the two pilots, Squadron Leader Asim Jawad, died.
