According to the sheriff's office, an alligator was killed in Florida's Pinellas County on Friday after the body of a deceased adult was discovered in a nearby creek. Deputies rushed to the vicinity of 134th Avenue North and 121st Street North in unincorporated Largo at 1:50 pm after the incident was reported. During the investigation, deputies located an alligator 13 feet, 8.5 inches long, in the waterway, prompting personnel to kill and remove the alligator humanely. Investigators revealed in a release that the body's remains were retrieved from the river by the sheriff's office's dive team. The body is set to be autopsied to determine the cause of death.
