Zomato CEO Deepinder Goyal shared a personal experience on October 6, 2024, highlighting the challenges faced by delivery partners. In a video, Goyal documented his journey of picking up an order from Haldiram's at Ambience Mall in Gurugram. Despite being the CEO of the food delivery giant, Goyal faced difficulties. At first, he was told to use a different entrance, which led him to take the stairs to the third floor. His attempts to access the main entrance of the mall was allegedly blocked by mall security. During the experience, Goyal realised that Zomato delivery partners are often denied access to the mall and have to wait by the stairs for orders. He eventually sneaked into the mall when the staircase guard stepped away for a break. Goyal emphasised the need for closer collaboration with malls to improve the working conditions of all delivery partners. He futher said, “malls also need to be more humane to delivery partners.” Swiggy To Sponsor Shark Tank Season 4, Likely To Leave Zomato Founder Deepinder Goyal out of the Deal.

During my second order, I realised that we need to work with malls more closely to improve working conditions for all delivery partners. And malls also need to be more humane to delivery partners.
