In 2023, UPI stood among the most popular and widely used platforms for financial transactions. According to the official post by Chandra R. Srikanth, Deputy Executive Editor of Moneycontrol, Transactions done through UPI crossed the 100 billion mark in 2023 and close to 118 billion. The post said the recorded UPI transactions in 2022 were 74 billion compared to 2022, marking 60% growth. As per the report by Moneycontrol, the platform witnessed 12 billion transactions with a "cumulative value of Rs 18.23 lakh crore".
