United Airlines has signed a deal with SpaceX to equip over 1,000 planes with Starlink internet, offering free and reliable Wi-Fi to passengers. The service will be tested in early 2025 and fully rolled out later that year.
United Airlines reportedly announced a deal for SpaceX's Starlink satellite internet service. As a part of this deal, the airline major will equip more than 1,000 plans with Starlink internet services and become the largest provider of high-speed internet services on planes. United Airlines does not plan to charge any additional cost to passengers using the Wi-Fi services of Elon Musk's Starlink. Instead, it will allow them to use it on the seatback screens and personal devices. The testing of the Starlink internet on United Airlines will begin in early 2025 and be fully rolled out later, according to a report by Bloomberg.
