The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) on Saturday, October 21, successfully launched its uncrewed flight test from Sriharikota in Andhra Pradesh, thus marking the first step towards the Gaganyaan mission. The first unmanned flight test, designated as the Test Vehicle Development Flight Mission-1 (TV-D1 Flight Test), was launched by ISRO from Andhra Pradesh's Sriharikota at 10 am after the first test flight was aborted. "Mission going as planned," ISRO said after the launch. It must be noted that the uncrewed flight test vehicle abort mission will demonstrate the performance of the Crew Escape system as part of the Gaganyaan mission. The launch will also test the safe landing in the Bay of Bengal after the rocket is launched by ISRO. Earlier, ISRO took to X, formerly Twitter, to announce the countdown leading to the launch of the Gaganyaan Mission TV-D1 Test Flight.
