OpenAI co-founder Durk Kingma announced his decision to join the AnthropicAI because he believed it had a similar approach to AI development to his own. Previously working at Google's DeepMind, Durk Kingma invented VAE, Adam Optimizer, and other methods. He was also one of the founding members of the ChatGPT-developer OpenAI. He said he would look forward to contributing to AnthropicAI's mission and developing powerful AI systems responsibly.
