Ola CEO Bhavish Aggarwal has launched reduced pricing and roadmap for its Ola Maps and offered free access for up to three years. The move was triggered as a response to Google Maps's recently announced price cuts. On July 17, Ola CEO took on Google and criticised tech giant's efforts to reduce price for Google Maps after #ExitGoogleMaps campaign on X. He promised to bring a new announcement for Ola Maps on July 18 (today). Bhavish Aggarwal announced that Ola Maps pricing would be free for first year and will cost differently for second year based on monthly volume and API. He posted that starting today, the pricing would include 5M FREE API calls per month for all users, 50% of the reduced prices than Google Maps for larger volumes, and two years free for people signing a 3+ years commitment. Three years free for startups & SMBs on ONDC.
