On August 1, 2024, an X user, Mukund P Unny (@eminentjurist) shared a troubling experience with Amazon India. Mukund shared that on July 21, 2024, he ordered an iPhone 15 in exchange for his iPhone 13. The next day, a delivery executive arrived, collected the iPhone 13, and provided the new phone. However, the executive asked for an additional OTP for exchange, which Mukund did not have. The executive then called his supervisor, who informed Mukund that the exchange team was different and requested to return the new phone, assuring a reattempt delivery for the next day. On July 23, 2024, Mukund contacted Amazon Customer Care and was assured of a refund if the product was not delivered. However, upon further inquiry, Mukund was informed that the investigation was complete and no refund would be issued. Mukund expressed his frustration, stating, “Now, we are staring at a loss of INR 38,000 and a possible scam done by the supervisor, delivery exec, and others at Amazon.” Amazon India has responded to this matter and advised him to contact their support team for further assistance. Customer Confused Over Multiple OTP Requests
He said I have give another OTP. I had already given the OTP and was wondering what other OTP is to be given for exchange. I said I dont have any other OTP than the one I have given. He stayed there for few minutes & then called his supervisor. 2/9

Supervisor Requests Product Return Despite Delivery Confirmation
I said I cannot give away the product especially since the OTP is given and the app was showing that the product is delivered. But this supervisor Ashok (8076650306) requested me to return, lest his team will have to make for the loss. 4/9

Refund Assured by Amazon Customer Care if Product Not Delivered
On 23.07.2024, I spoke with the Amazon Customer Care and raised a complaint to which I assured that refund will be initiated if the product is not delivered. Call centre asked me to follow up on 25.07.2024. 6/9

Customer Suspected Possible Scam Involving Supervisor and Delivery Executive
Now, we are staring at a loss of Rs. 38000 and a possible scam done by supervisor, delivery exec and others at Amazon. If they say that the exchange is done, then they can very well see the old phone that I still use with me. 8/9
