Microsoft Investigating Issue Related to ‘Email OTP Authentication’ That Stops External Users From Accessing SharePoint Online and OneDrive for Business
Microsoft announced that it was investigating an issue related to 'email one-time passcode authentication'. The issue caused the external users to stop using the Microsoft OneDrive for Business and SharePoint.
Microsoft said it was looking into the problem which prevented the external users with email OTP to access OneDrive for Business and SharePoint Online. The company just announced it was investigating this safety issue related to "email one-time password authentication". The tech giant posted on X saying, "We're investigating an issue in which any external user with email One Time Passcode (OTP) authentication may be unable to access SharePoint Online or OneDrive for Business." The Microsoft email one-time passcode is a method which helps the users to authenticate their identity using the OTP sent to the registered email address. Once the user authenticates any device, the server sends an email with a one-time passcode to the registered account, which can be used for authentication.
