Upon checking, he found it was an old, expired card, and he noticed no other suspicious activity. Arran also noted that others on Reddit had reported similar experiences and asked, "Google Pay, should we be concerned?" In response, Google Pay acknowledged the error in a post on October 4, 2024. They reassured Arran that the email notification was sent by mistake and confirmed that no unauthorised access occurred.
