Google is introducing new anti-theft tools for Android users that could make stolen phones almost useless. A Reddit user, Mishaal Rahman, shared a post revealing that Google has started rolling out Theft Detection Lock, Offline Device Lock, and Remote Lock to Android users in the US. These features were initially tested in Brazil in August and are now expanding to more regions. The tools are expected to protect user data by locking the device if it is stolen. Rahman further mentioned, "I just checked my Xiaomi 14T Pro and noticed that I have Theft Detection Lock and Offline Device Lock but not Remote Lock." Theft Detection Lock uses machine learning to detect and lock your phone if stolen, Offline Device Lock locks your screen when disconnected from the Internet, and Remote Lock allows you to secure your phone using just your phone number.
