This might comes as a shock, given that 14-year-old app Gaana had previously raised over USD 200 million in funding and was last valued at approximately USD 580 million. On August 15, 2024, an X user, Ravisutanjani (@Ravisutanjani), shared a post stating, "Gaana Has Been Acquired by Radio Mirchi’s Parent Company for Just INR 25 Lakh". Another X user Saemin Ahn (@Saemin4655), also shared a post sharing the same incident, stating, "Tencent-backed Gaana was acquired for INR 25 lakh by Times Internet, according to filings with the National Stock Exchange (NSE)."
