Elon Musk’s Starlink Expands to Virginia and West Virginia’s National Radio Quiet Zone in Collaboration with US Scientists, Preventing Radio Telescope Interference
Elon Musk's Starlink reportedly expanded into wireless signal restricted area, the National Radio Quiet Zone in Virginia and West Virginia in collaboration with US scientists.
Elon Musk's Starlink reportedly started rolling out its service for thousands of residents in the National Radio Quiet Zone across Virginia and West Virginia, where wireless signals are restricted. A user on x (@ajtourville) said that the rollout has been possible after a three-year collaboration between SpaceX and US scientists to prevent interference with local radio telescopes. Elon Musk's SpaceX came up with new system to resolve this issue of interference. This system helped it quickly the satellite beams away from the Green Bank Observatory when they pass overhead. Due to this, Starlink has been able to cover 42 of the 46 cell areas near the observatory. This effort ensures internet access without disrupting sensitive astronomical research.
