European Commissionaire Thierry Breton warned Elon Musk to comply with the EU's DSA (Digital Services Act) law amid the rising threat of harmful content. Thierry Breton posted on X, "With great audience comes greater responsibility #DSA". He sent a letter to X platform owner Elon Musk and CEO Linda Yaccarino informing them about this issue. The letter emphasizes the importance of controlling harmful content, such as hate speech and disinformation, particularly during significant events. Ongoing legal proceedings are noted, and the Commission closely monitors "X" for compliance. Immediate action will be taken if breaches are detected. In the letter, he added, "In this respect, I note that the DSA obligations apply without exceptions or discrimination to the moderation of the whole user community and content on X (including myself as a user with over 190 million followers), which is accessible to EU users and should be fulfilled in line with the risk-based approach of the DSA, which requires greater due diligence in case of a foreseeable increase of the risk profile.
